Well crap, I thought that’s what I did. Unless maybe they made a change along the way. Sorry, it’s hard to remember exactly what I did 7 months ago when I got the phone. Honestly, it’s possible that I’m getting my wires crossed and maybe I only did this for Firefox, since I have both browsers installed.
Thanks for the additional guidance. I do have Developer Options enabled but cannot find a text-to-speech option. I do see “Language” and “Speech Rate” but when I click on them the “Settings App Stopped Working” pop up appears and I get kicked out of the menus! Hopefully this too will open up with 1.4.0 . Nonetheless I really appreciate the guidance shared with me / the community!
Ah sorry. I was able to pull up “speech rate” just now but it’s entirely possible that it only worked because I had TTS set up before the update. You could also try restarting the phone and checking again, though. I have had the settings menu get pretty wonky when going into options the devs don’t expect you to use but sometimes a restart helps with it. If not, well hopefully they fix this issue in the next update (without creating even more issues in the process).
Still not working for me even after restarting. Keeping my fingers crossed for the update!
With Yubikey I can give you my account info - and it’s still useless as long as you don’t have my key in possession (and it’s password).
I understand that its good to have the extra layer of security, and it sounds like and excellent tool, I had a look on the yubikey website at apps that work with it. I notice that 1password has Yubikey integration, am I understanding correctly that any password stored there, would require Yubikeys additional verification, or would it only apply to the 1password app itself. If that is the case there seems to be a lot of other apps / websites that have Yubikey integration, but only a handful that I would consider useful.
@bone_naga Just an update here that accessing/enabling the necessary settings to get KeyMapper working has been resolved for me in the 1.4.0 update and hopefully for others too!
I’m glad to hear it!
Don’t know for sure but I’m guessing that you can set it up so you can only unlock your passwords from manager with Yubikey.
True that still many places lack integration with Yubikeys like banking(?!) also I’d like all my shopping secured - but so far still - most critical stuff like e-mails works. Also I’m kinda able to use my Google account (for occasional YT comment) while using VPN without giving them bastards my phone number (that’s how they identify you) - so that alone was worth the investment for me .
I tried lately to get second anonymous Google account but was not able to pass without phone nr (and using websites for temp nr). Before Yubikey they would constantly lock me out while phishing for my phone - using security as an excuse.
