Battery draining fast over 24 hours

I’ve has my Kompact for over a month now. I’ve side loaded WhatsApp but force stop it for most of the day. Battery states built in 2024. Initially the phone held its charge well, recently however, once charged to 80%, most apps force stopped, barely used, I’m down in less than 24 hours to 20% battery. I tried a full charge to 100% and still the same, it just drains the battery simply being left doing nothing. This doesn’t seem right and not what I’d expect at all based on the marketing for the phone. Is this a dud battery? Should I simply send the phone back as it’s either a defect or is this simply expectations of this phone now reading around the forum with similar issues from people?

This is very unusual. Could you please list all the apps you have sideloaded on your Kompakt? Maybe it’s something we’re missing. I have several sideloaded apps on my Kompakt & the battery is very solid.

I’ve had my Kompakt since April 2025 and only went through 72 cycle charges, so what you’re experiencing is quite unusual since I have BOTH WhatsApp & Signal installed on my device since DAY ONE.

Hi, sure.

WhatsApp is the only side loaded app. I’ve tried to upload a photo but new users oddly cannot upload images in this forum.

I only have 7 of the phones default apps loaded e.g. Alarm, Calculator, etc. I have WiFi enabled only. Display light less than 50%. I’ve used it probably for 15 minutes unlocked in total over 24 hours and it’s dropped from 80% to 20% in that time today.

I’ve purposely tried to keep this phone to the absolute minimum setup such as one side loaded app, force stop all unused apps.

This is an unusual situation. In this case, we would recommend that you reach out to our customer service for specific technical support. They will probably need to request your logs to see what happened behind the scenes for this to occur. They can be reached via email at [email protected] or, alternatively, you can submit a support request/support ticket directly on our website:

I also have a lot of sideloaded apps (have since the beginning) and only have about a 24 hour life on the battery. I assumed that was my own doing due to all the apps I have and I’d just have to live with it. Do you also recommend I reach out to tech support?

@urszula I’ve let Claude + adb take a look at it and wanted to double check if it is in any way concerning or very typical for the Kompakt.

It all depends on what type of apps you have sideloaded. If most of the apps are very resource-heavy, then yes, that does cause the battery to drain faster. However, in my case, I try not to have too many apps that may fall into that category & I try to choose Eink apps made for Mudita Kompakt or low-resource apps.

Using apps that are not specifically designed for Mudita Kompakt can sometimes be a gamble because we can’t be sure how things are running in the background. Do you by any chance have DURASPEED disabled?
