Banking: Tan App / Camera Problem

Hi everybody. Did a search here and found no threads that adress this specific issue:

To verify my phone (in this case: Mudita Kompakt), my tan app requires me to take a snapshot of a QR code thats displayed by the banking app on my computer. Unfortunately it fails everytime and i get an error screen by the app, saying that “there could be various reasons for this (problem).”

I understand that banking is not seen as ideal by the makers of this rather beautiful device but i really don’t want to carry a second smartphone around. I mean, the whole point in switching to the Mudita is to get away from my old smartphone with all it’s addictive temptations.

What do you guys think? Any help or insights are highly appreciated! Thx in advance!

This might be a case where the banking apps expect some Googe Play services to verify the integrity of its own software.

I am not familiar with a Tan App, so I cannot comment on it, but if it requires google services then it will not function properly on the Mudita Kompakt. The camera does recognize QR codes when it comes to certain things, like WiFi. The scanned QR code sometimes needs to open a webpage or another app, so if you don’t have a browser installed or the app is not functioning properly, that might be a problem.
You can also try the CalmQR app, which is made especially for Mudita Kompakt by our very own @jacobrmoss
