This feature is a longstanding one: each time I put my Mudita in my pocket and move, there’s a good chance it will start to randomly call people from my contact list/phone history.
For long time, I thought that I was forgetting to lock the screen correctly but today I had the proof that:
I locked my phone before putting it in my pocket.
The phone was locked when I took it out.
During the 20 minutes it was locked and in my pocket, it initiated 4 different calls.
There’s not even any logic in which call it would initiate as there was:
A friend which whom I have call approximately once a month.
An unknown number (not in my contacts) that called me 6 months ago.
A random acquointance with whom I had no contact in the last year
A short random number (8266) that I had never called before (it was called twice)
This is becoming critical because people are now starting to call me back. It may be also related that I move more withe my phone while, previously, it was more often standing still on my desk.
Wow! I am not alone - thanks for describing the problem. I thought I was crazy but it happens to me too, it’s difficult to describe but you did describe the problem. I think having a case that covers the screen might help resolve the pocket dial condition.
Recently I posted that my the Kompakt music player I paused the day before resumed itself - the phone was just sitting on the desk. So, that I share a similar idle to active experience.
Screen locked, too, yes. Also I keep bluetooth and WiFi off.
(I suspect weather app or GPS triggering activity)
The most likely explanation I see is that the fingerprint sensor is too lenient and recognize some random press as my finger. On the other hand, when I trully want to open my phone, the fingerprint sensor is infuriating. But I don’t see any other explanation for that behaviour.
This is strange …. I don’t get any accidental / ghost calls at all.
I have Bluetooth, WiFi, gps and fingerprint sensor all turned off. Not sure if this is relevant, but could be a baseline, to start diagnosing the cause.
I will probably make a few iterations, when I get some time. I’d like to make one with a small notebook attached also, as Im often scratching around for a scrap of paper to scribble dates / details on during a phone call.
No way the phone call should be disconnected while the screen is locked… the phone sitting untouched, out of pocket? My Kompakt will suddenly display the phone screen and terminate a phone call. I warn people that I am on a “different” phone whist conversing if we lose the call, I dial them back.

Could you please let us know what type of lock mechanism you are using? Is it a PIN, Fingerprint or both?
I am also experiencing this issue on occasion (maybe once a week). At first I thought it was due to me not locking the phone when I put it in my pocket. I became more conscious of locking the phone, but the “butt dial” calls still happen. FYI I don’t use any PIN or fingerprint to unlock the phone— only the button on the side of the phone. I believe it is calling numbers from my recent calls, but not necessarily the most recent ones. Usually the call has ended or hung up itself by the time I notice.
I lock my Kompakt screen the same way - but it’s disputed if that’s actually locking the Kompakt, but since the butt dials happen when a locking passcode is used I think it’s just a rouge wireless radiation bombardment - some mysteries cannot be solved
@sundancermartin if it’s possible… cover screen & the side buttons? That may be good to help prevent the rouge wireless radiation from striking the power button.

Ok, today I locked my Kompakt and enabled offline+ for a meeting. Two hours later, when I put it out of my pocket, there were plenty of random events added to my calendar.
What I done:
Changed the unlock method to “press then fingerprint”
Changed the launcher to Katapult.
So this seems to boil down to the most probable and most simple answer: the Mudita unlock itself randomly.
How bizarre! ….Thankfully I don’t have this problem at all, I think I would have to stop using it, or come up with a solution to stop the screen from reacting to a key press. Do you have it in a case?
I think it may be static electricity triggering my touchscreen on the phone
