Hello,
Having an issue since I updated to 1.4. I use whatsapp a lot on my kompakt, so this issue is really problematic. Post 1.4 update, when I am using whatsapp I now get a message along the lines of “battery power is restricted for whatsapp. Your call/audio may be disrupted. You can change the power settings for whatsapp on your phone’s settings.” I cannot find where to make this change, and my calls on whatsapp are no longer functioning seamlessly. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as my experience with Kompakt has been awesome, and I was on the verge of making it my daily driver.
It sounds like you need to turn off Battery Optimization for WhatsApp. If you have inkOS installed on your Kompakt, there should be a Battery Optimization shortcut in your App Drawer. If you don’t use inkOS, then you can sideload Activity Manager and access those settings from there. In Activity Manager, you’ll want to search for and open com.android.settings and then search for and open .Settings$HighPowerApplicationsActivity. Whether you use the shortcut in the inkOS App Drawer or navigate correctly within Activity Manager, you’ll end up at a screen that looks something like this:
You’ll then want to tap on NOT OPTIMIZED, followed by ALL APPS. Then scroll down to WhatsApp, tap on it, and select Don’t optimize. This should hopefully fix your issue.
Perfect! This fixed it. I run InkOs, but couldn’t find the battery optimization shortcut in the app drawer section. I ended up downloading activity manager from Fdroid and following your instructions to get the job done. Thanks a lot! Kompakt–>daily driver plan is back on track. Much appreciated!
Send me a screenshot or photo how the System Shortcut looks on your side.
They will appear in Appdrawer (the list of all apps), not in Settings/Appdrawer.
Check if u possibly hidden them with longpress+hide option, they can be found in Settings / Appdrawer / Hidden.
