APN settings and MMS

Hi! Right now I’m unable to send and receive mms. I’m quite sure it has to do with my APN settings. However, I’m afraid of messing around with this when I’m not so technically skilled, so I just want to be sure I’m doing it right.
This is what the carrier says should be the settings:

  • Name: mms.ice.net
  • APN: mms.ice.net
  • MMSC: http://mms
  • MMS-proxy: 10.10.10.10
  • MMS-port: 80
  • APN-type: mms
Should I click + button in the APNs and create a new APN?
When I click save, is there anything more to think of?

Yes. You cannot hurt anything by following those instructions from your carrier.

What you wrote matches most of what I saw in the English translation of MMS-innstillinger - ice.

Manual setup by MMS

  • Go to Settings.
  • Choose Network and Internet.
  • Select Mobile Network.
  • Select Access Point Name (can be below advanced settings).
  • Select «Add» and fill in the following:
  • Name: mm.ice.net
  • APN: mm.ice.net
  • MMSC: http://mms
  • MMS proxy: 10.10.10.10
  • MMS port: 80
  • APN type: mms

BUT! Technically, the APN type must be MORE than simply “mms”.

Here is a note that ICE put at the bottom of the above instructions:

NOTE: Make sure you have «APN type: default, supl» under Mobile network settings. Without this, mobile data and MMS do not work simultaneously. This applies to some HTC phones and may also apply to other Android phones we haven’t tested.

Summary:

  • Set APN type to: default, supl, mms (instead of only mms)

Have you enabled MMS in your Kompakt?

@urszula should be able to help you with this.

I have enabled MMS, and my mobile data is on. Maybe I have to contact my carrier and ask if they know why I am not receiving/can send MMS?

I would create a new APN profile. That way if it doesn’t work out, you can just switch back.
