[Kompakt] A few times while fumbling to dismiss the alarm in the morning, I have accidentally navigated away from the alert, maybe by pressing the home button. There is then no way to go back to the page showing the alarm dismiss button; the back button doesn’t help.
I’m able to get around this by going to the notification in sideloaded NotificationLog, but before I had that, I had to restart the phone to get the alarm to stop.
OK, I may be mistaken about what was going on here. I just created two test alarms, one to go off while the phone was unlocked, and one to go off when locked. In both cases, the alarm dialogue did not come up at all. I heard the sound, but all I saw was the home screen.
I believe there are scenarios, where some other app like sms or phone app grabs place of the alarm and then you cannot go back. I vaguely remember such a scenario even with the mudita kompakt
I was wondering if the notification log app I sideloaded might be intercepting the notifications. I also noticed yesterday that I don’t have a badge on the SMS icon when I have a text message. I don’t think this was happening when I first sideloaded the app, but I’ll try uninstalling it to see if the problem persists.
I uninstalled the notification log app, but I still don’t see the alarm screen, nor the notification badge on the SMS icon. I have been doing a lot of tinkering, so it’s entirely possible that this is due to a change that I made in the developer settings. Just wondering if anyone else encounters this.
@lisa I’m not sure if what was happening in your case was the result of sideloaded apps or, as you said, tinkering (LOL). I’ve passed this on to our team to see what they can add to this conversation.
Maybe this adds some food for thought, today I snoozed my alarm 2x, after the 2nd snooze I unlocked the phone and went to the alarm and hit save (without toggling it off and on again) hoping it will stop the active alarm but it didn’t, it came up again but this was probably the only way to stop it. Not sure if it’s to be considered a bug, I don’t remember how smartphones work in that regard.
I’ve been digging around in the developer options trying to find out which setting might be responsible, to no avail. If anyone has an idea where to look, please let me know. Otherwise I’m probably going to do a factory reset pretty soon.
Hey Urszula, do you think the devs could add an option when setting an alarm that would activate the brightness of the screen even if in the settings I have it set to 0 ? I never use the brightness of the screen, but that would be the one time I need it as of course when the alarm goes off, it’s pitch dark in my room and I have hard time to cut off the alarm. So I have to manually every evening put a bit of brightness for the morning and then remove it. Thanks !
