Yeah they need to remove things that remind us of a smartphone, I hate that even though my phone is not locked with either a code or a password I still have to swipe up, I HATE that lol, I hate that when I am walking around it still looks like a smartphone, when I had the light phone 2 people always looked at me like wtf is this guy holding lol
I always have had a PIN on my F1 Orchid. I just removed it. Sure enough, I can flip open the Orchid to start using it! Granted, the flip-open action is somewhat similar to the swipe-up action on the Kompakt. But, …
For those of us who like NO fingerprint- or PIN-based protection…
- Imagine if one could simply click the power button to open an UNPROTECTED Kompakt … instead of clicking the power button AND swiping up to open it!

Also I have to stay I am really starting to hate the logo during the lockscreen, this should 100 percent be showing the time or maybe the time plus a positive quote like on my Harmony clock
It feels tacky to be forced to see the logo all the time. Even Amazon lets you display a book cover or a blank screen.
Yeah I am really starting to hate it lol
I don’t mind it too much. I feel that I don’t look at it enough really lol
I just want to add. I think there should be an option to change the lock screen. I personally don’t want the time or anything that requires constant updates. E-Ink flashes a lot when it does that.
I have the calendar and time on my Boox Tab Ultra. It is never exactly accurate on the time, and I end up closing the lid on it because the flashing to update the time is distracting.
Tacking onto this thread to say I also LOVE this phone!! It’s day 1 and I got everything set up in no-time! I read too many negative comments on here before getting it because this is exactly what I was looking for!
OLauncher and Signal is all I need! Literally “Signal, SMS, Phone” are the only things on my main menu. I know this will be my phone for years to come.
I have a trmnl (epaper screen), and it updates every 20 minutes. Every time it updates, even under candlelight, it draws my attention toward it from across the room. I think it might be possible just to refresh the clock area, and not the whole screen, but I still don’t like the idea. I do however want a non text version of the lockscreen, and maybe they can add a small notification dot.
What about some jazzy idea that the lockscreen clock could be something like that instead:
- past midnight
- past 1 am
… - past noon
… - past 5 pm
