1.6 bug : PIN code required when going out of Offline+

I’ve just upgraded to 1.6.

Despites the now infamous “Rejected call notifications” bug, I’m hitting a totally new behaviour:which is very buggy when going out of Offline+: I’m asked everytime both my SIM PIN number AND my phone code.

To reproduce, simply switch Offline+ on then off:

  1. My SIM card PIN is suddenly asked.
  2. I’m asked and required to “swipe up”
  3. I’m required to enter my 6 digits phone pin code.

That’s 3 extra steps when going out of Offline+, which is nearly a dealbreaker for me (I’m using Offline+ litterally all the time, without even looking at my phone but to ensure I’m not disturbed when I don’t want then putting online when available. The fact that I didn’t had to even look or unlock my phone was the whole point of this button)

In my own usecase, this is a really severe bug.

I have the same problem.

This seems to confirm that the bug is not on my side.

I don’t have this problem. It seems to be a random bug that only affects some users, which makes it even harder to fix.

@ploum Is it possible for you to provide a video or pix to show us what it happening. I just tried to troubleshoot this & it’s not happening on my end.

I did inform our team that your & another user are experiencing this. I am waiting for their reply.

Also occurs here ! (France / Free network)

Definitely random because I don’t have it either. However, it would definitely be annoying. I mean, I don’t know my SIM card PIN off the top of my head. I would have to look for the documentation.

I’m not allowed to post mp4 file on this forum.

@ploum MOV files are allowed.

You can convert them here for free

If mov is good, no need for a cloud-thing. Ffmpeg does it directly.

@ploum Thank you for this. I will pass this on to the team

I am also having this issue

I just tested my Kompakt and had no issues with the offline function. It is working normally. . I am in Canada. I suspect that if it were an update issue all users would experienced it ( like the notification issue). I just wanted to make it clear that not everyone who updated to 1.6 is experiencing this issue.

Have the same.

Confirmed. Each time I go out from Offline+ I have to enter PIN + security code.

Very annoying.

And I can’t accept the idea having new bugs with each update. For me me they should be here to reduce the number of bugs not adding new ones.

:grimacing:

Same here… I use the offline+ pretty much, so it’s a bit of a shame. and that’s actually the only issue I’ve found with the new update.

Same here - a regular offline+ user and no issues. NA user on Tmo.

Do you have a pin on your sim card?

Good point - I assumed it was a security code. Tmo makes you give a code so when you change services you need to enter that code/pin. Given this is my first physical sim in quite some time, would not have been surprised if I needed the code at one time. But no, I do not have a regular pin that needs to be entered for day to day service.
