When you’re not glued to a screen, people notice

This article in British Vogue made me stop & take notice:

It explores the allure of individuals who are less engaged with the digital world, highlighting their groundedness and authenticity.
A woman is quoted in the article:
“There’s something sooo sexy about an offline guy,” she said, biting her lip. “And something sort of meh about a very online one.”

I can just see the Vogue headline…

Hold a Mudita Kompakt, and suddenly, you’re not just attractive, you’re intriguingly mysterious. Because nothing says ‘I’m worth your attention’ like a phone that doesn’t beg for it.

True for me. I have looked at ‘online/head buried in screen’ people lately and found them to be far less attractive than offline people. I’d be attracted to someone with a simple phone. I’d feel they were down to Earth amd grounded.

So true, when you become a digital minimalist you really do realize that everyone else around you are just glued to their devices, its sad to see and you hope they also finally wake up

The notion that ten different witnesses to a crime will give ten different accounts may have to change when all ten witnesses are glued to their devices – as in, “None of them saw anything!”

‘Situational awareness’ evaporates when someone is glued to his or her smartphone.

When you dont look to the screen, you hit way less objects
I always wondered why people look at phone hand level, when you can use hands to lift phone to eyes level?

This pic of a kid who’s so engrossed in the screen, he has no idea Angelina Jolie is behind him
