What's Next for Mudita?

Timepieces like the Moment bring an elegant touch while staying true to their purpose of being in the present. Being a different type of technology, I couldn’t help but wonder what other surprises Mudita might have on the horizon. I may be getting ahead of myself and I apologize if this has been posted before, but ever since pre-ordering the Kompakt, I’ve been very excited about what this company represents.

Anyone else hoping for an eink Linux laptop :joy:

I would actually love to see that, if the apps were optimized for an e-ink screen with a Mudita-forked version

A minimalist digital watch with activity tracker / a smartwatch “lite”

Agreed! There was a video I saw a few weeks ago where the host said an ideal watch should be more of a companion device, and not a full-blown smart device. Maybe something that can track and record your steps locally, buzz when you get a text (notification only, not able to read the message directly from the watch), things like that. With an e-ink screen and not running Android, I would think the watch could last a long time between charges.

I was once on the edge of buying an :watch: apple watch. But i realised that they were way overpriced and the low battery levels really defeated the whole purpose for me. I just cant be bothered anymore about hungry devices that are constant in dire need of a recharge. An actual e-ink monitor/laptop would be cool but i don’t think that the technology is actually there yet. I also have an eye on the e-ink picture frames… but prices are way to high for a descent sized one

I’m with you on that. When it comes to battery power, a watch that you can charge once and not worry about it for a week or a month would be perfect since you could get more work done without having to worry about it.

We’re slowly but surely advancing in e-ink which is very exciting, I never thought we would see color displays but here we are! You’re absolutely right tho, the cost needs to go down on a lot of the displays. Laptops in e-ink would be slick!

I have an Amazfit Neo, that is pretty similar to what you describe. Lasts for 3-4 weeks too.

Agreed! Lasting for at least one week on a single charge is one of the many reasons that I like my Garmin Forerunner 645.

We want to incorporate tech that assists us in our day to day lives without being completely plugged in (pun intended lol) to tech like so many are nowadays. Sounds like you both have the right idea!

I’m wondering when we will be able to purchase the Mudita Lantern and Cone  I’d definitely order the Cone for my bedside table!

@nyverden It’s from the Mudita Catalog! I can’t remember how I found it initially, but if you type “Mudita Lantern” into Google, it’s the first thing that pops up.

@jackb That was a good find, thank you! I would definitely order a cone as a bedside lamp as well. It reminds me of the kind of warm light that we used to have back in the day of incandescents.

I’m secretly wishing they will work on a Mudita Harmony 3 digital & analog version :eyes:

Ooooh!! Thoughts? @jordan I’d love to hear your thoughts as our fellow EMF informer  for a lack of better term/title.

Id like a mudita charger. Something aesthetic, and hardwearing, and battery kind. Perhaps cork or wood…?

I’d be interested in seeing a secure gps device to keep track of partners/family. Something hopefully only shared between those that in who have a shared group of devices.

Maybe this sounds weird, but my partner and I enjoy being able to make sure the other is safe and healthy, but I’d like not having to use Apple services or Snapchat, etc.

@internationalbag They do have the Stolp power banks, but with a woodgrain shell that would be pretty snazzy

@oceanos Like a dedicated GPS for specific shared users? Something slim and easy to keep in the pocket, I guess the bigger challenge would be battery life
