Syncing Messages (SMS/MMS) Between Mudita Kompakt + Computer

I’m curious if there’s a way to (ideally wirelessly) sync messages (SMS/MMS) between the Mudita Kompakt and a computer.

My preference is to receive and respond to all messages on my computer (MacBook Air) when I’m at my desk with access to a full keyboard.

However, when I’m on the go, I’d like to receive those same messages on the Mudita Kompakt so I can quickly screen them, determine their urgency, and - if they’re not timely (and most aren’t!) - simply ignore them and review/respond later when I’m back at my computer.

I’m wondering if there are any solutions or workarounds for this type of setup with the Mudita Kompakt?

There appears to be a current workaround here (thanks to gezimos for the hot tip)! I’m testing it now and will update this post in ALL CAPS shortly

UPDATE: I WAS ABLE TO GET KDE CONNECT WORKING INCREDIBLY WELL - DETAILS (INCLUDING TROUBLESHOOTING) IN THE POST LINKED BELOW. HOPE IT PROVIDES UTILITY TO OTHERS!

Are there plans for messaging on Mudita Center for Kompakt?

@stevenjc123 @zyny KDE Connect can do this: Download KDE Connect on your device of choice: Linux, Windows, Mac Download KDE Connect on your Kompakt (u can find it on F-Droid). Pair these together following the instructions (they need to be on same wifi Network). Give the required permissions to the KDE Connect so it can access sms/contacts from your computer. KDE Connect seconded. You can also try PlainApp. They both sometimes have trouble connecting, but KDE Connect has been a bit more reliable for me. I use it both on Linux and my work Windows laptops.
