I don’t feel like refreshing a few pixels every minute is an issue… At least it seems to me this is less consuming than refreshing the whole screen by pushing the button and making everything appear just to know the time. (as far as I understand how e-ink works)
@astratev This was definitely not one of the most requested features
You’re right.
I guess functional updates and bug fixing should be the top priorities.
I just hoped that a “small” bring an image to your front screen would be programmed “quickly” ![]()
I would not recommend this. First, the clock is sometimes delayed by more than 15 minutes and need to be updated anyway, second thing is, that each country has its own way to deal with that. Even in Germany there are two different ways to tell somebody the time. Most likely in West Germany, people use the British system with “quarter past 9” and “quarter to 9”, while in East Germany we say “quarter 10” or “three quarters 9”. Probably some historic related stuff, I don’t know.
Anyway, I need the specific time in minutes because of public transportation system. The solution for the lock screen is easy in my mind. When unlocking the phone by fingerprint or power button, first get the clock updated and then show the screen. Actually the order is opposite and that causes the issue. Somehow in the future there may be an always-on display with configurable features like the clock. Then it should of course be updated every minute like all other always-on phones do.
