unfortunately stock keyboard is the issue not the vibration. Sideload G-board and thank me later. It runs as fast as any other phone keyboard.

Do you know if FUTO keyboard runs as fast as Gboard?

Honestly how can they get the keyboard so wrong… It’s like one of 6 apps they had to make, and do well, wtf

not happy using a Google product, is there an alternative? You are right though that it works 5 times faster, stock keyboard is completely unusable.

@urszula Please fix stock keyboard ASAP, it’s a breaking issue imho.

Have you turned anything in the settings to any specific point? I dont have haptics or sound in keyboard even though i turn it on and off and doesnt work in any combination so i suspected switches not working at all but here it is working at your phone

I fully agree here.The poor keyboard performance might be the breaking point for me with this device. I’ve seen suggestions to side load keyboard, but this is 100% a function that should work well without side loading

But wow, thank you - after just 5 minutes of testing FUTO keyboard, it changes the entire experience of the device. So much better - speed of typing, auto correct, voice input

I still would really prefer not to give a 3rd party app access to my keyboard input, but that issue aside for now, this is a significant improvement to the typing experience and I hope the native keyboard can match this in the future.

You are in luck @brendxn because FUTO is the most private keyboard, does not collect data, and runs locally.

@Jose_Briones would it be better to get FUTO from F droid, aurora, or something else?

Not Jose, but the safest way is to follow their own links here: FUTO Keyboard

Better through F-Droid, as it manages updates. If you get the apk only you get no updates.

To install it through F-droid:
F Droid > Settings > Repositories > {+} circle and scan the QR code from Futo’s website and you get access to their Repo.

@gezimos not aurora store?

My first choice is to get the app on F-droid, which happens with Open Source apps most of the time. If it’s something important that is not there then I look up on Aurora Store.

Aurora Store is good too, I got Signal from there because it’s not on F-Droid.

Their website doesn’t specifically recommend Aurora store (but im sure it’s fine since it’s basically the Google store). All of the info you need is in that link.
