Ringtones & Notification Sound uploading?

Just wondering if it’s possible to upload new ringtones or notification sounds to add to what is already available?

@umalum That’s something the team is considering, but no decision has been made yet.

Thank you! It’s not exactly important, but would be nice

In my humble opinion, all these pre-smartphone functions that we had in our old Nokias and Ericssons etc., should be implemented. Personal ringtone and alarm sounds, the option for a custom background/lock screen image seems as such a no-brainer that I’m surprised it’s not here already with MuditaOS K 1.0.0.
I understand that those are not priority functions on a minimalist type device, but minimalism and individualism should not be mutually exclusive.

Agreed. I am not a fan of the ringtones myself. Notifications are fine (love the gong), but ringtones, nah, not for me.

It’s not even about like/dislike. I’m missing my calls because the ringtones don’t sound like your typical ringtone sounds. My phone is ringing and my brain totally tunes it out thinking it’s just somebody around playing some music.

It’s again a base function what you have in the AOSP android, but they chose to restrict it

Ah I see! I always had my iPhone set as a trad phone sound so I see what you mean. I’m not missing calls due to sound, but the one I missed today didn’t make a sound at all, nor showed i’d had a call and it was beside me on my desk. Only knew later when my husband called again and it got through!

So a workaround I found is using MP3 Cutter and Ringtone Maker.

If you already have a ringtone/notification you’d like save it onto the Kompakt. Install the app, and give it permission to set the ringtones and notifications. Once I installed I just set to what I wanted, then uninstalled. The ringtone and notification settings should stay set to what you set to.

Only problem is if you accidently change the ringtones or notifications on the Kompakt’s normal settings you won’t be able to access your custom ringtones again with out MP3 Cutter and Ringtone Maker.
