I wanted to highlight PContacts—a great tool for syncing your Proton Contacts with Mudita Kompakt, especially for Proton users.
Currently, Proton does not support syncing or integration with Android’s native Contacts app. The only way to view your Proton contacts is through the Proton Mail app. This means you can’t use your phone’s built-in Contacts app to look up, call, or message your Proton contacts.
PContacts bridges that gap by writing your Proton contacts directly into Android’s standard Contacts database. Once synced, your contacts behave like any others on your phone—accessible from your messaging apps and the native Contacts app.

The latest version is currently available on GitHub and has also been submitted to F-Droid (pending their build and publication cycle).
Important Note on Two-Way Sync
As with contact syncing via DAVx⁵ and other cloud services, contacts created in your phone’s native Contacts app are still NOT automatically synced back to Proton. It seems Mudita Kompakt defaults to saving contacts locally without offering account selection; you may need to manually move or copy existing contacts to the Proton account. If you make it work with other third-party contact apps that can help with this process, please let me know.
If you’re invested in the Proton ecosystem but frustrated by the lack of native contact integration, this is a solid workaround that brings your Proton contacts where they belong—on your phone, accessible everywhere.
