I bought my Kompakt some months ago together with screen protector and case. It worked like a charme. Last week my phone dropped accidentially. It survived without a scratch, but the screen protector broke. So it did what it was designed for.
The new ones have a black frame. I think this is introduced to avoid the “ambilight”, which was visible at the edges of the phone. I really liked this effect, but some of you did not. With the modified version, this edge light does not appear anymore.
@urszula would be good to update the shop pictures, if it is not too much work.
May I hijack the thread to ask a question about the screen protector ? I bought one, but was too afraid to put it myself because of the bubbles etc. So I asked a buy in a phone shop, but it seems he was a trainee and it ended up with FIVE huge bubbles and it looked pretty opaque so I guess he struggled to put, ahah !
Was so disappointing I removed it and put it to the bin
Any advice regarding the operation ? It seems you put it perfectly ! I’ll have to order a new one ! (meanwhile I always carry the Mudita super carefully in the provided white cloth bag)
Also… Do I really need the screen protector ? I am extremely careful and always carrying the phone in the provided pouch, in its own pocket (obviously, never with keys
I never scratched my e-ink tablets in about 5 years (which I write on with a pen and which have no screen protection either).
@MicKitten I just noticed the same on the website today (and I don’t like it either, I liked the glow). It’s a bit hard to see on the product photos, but does it only cover the front of your Kompakt, or does it ‘fold’ around/over the edges? I specifically ask because the current cases fold just around the edges which offer additional protection when the phone is lying screen down. I wish Mudita Marketing had decided to keep them both, because I need to replace one (out if three) and then my stock of spare screen protectors is depleted, meaning I probably end up shopping for third party screen protectors. Fun detail: I’ve been on the Apple iPhone Express from day 1, have owned a model of every single generation, never ever had a crack in my screen protector. Now I switched to a Kompakt (well, three actually) and my main Kompakt has a crack in it’s window within 6 months. Unbelievable and unexpected.
