My guess is the announcement is tomorrow or next thursday, it was 20 days ago that it was posted that the global version was leaving the warehouse,

I just keep reminding myself I remember when the kickstarter started and that was all the way back in October of last year and it seemed so far away, and now May is here so fast, so only a few more weeks wait!

hahahaha, oh I have come from many phones, nokia 3310, light phone 2 (about ten times I used this phone, and is my current phone), Mudita Pure (nightmare that still wakes me up at night sometimes 
) Punkt, Sunbeam f1, Cat S22 Flip, Nokia 225, I have been on a dumbphone journey that I am confident FINALLY ends with the Kompakt

Yeah I don’t even need the Kompakt in my hand to know its what I’ve been waiting for this whole time. Most complaints for the Kompakt seem to be feature requests and after using the Punkt for over a year I realize I don’t have a need for any of them.

Yeah it really is a personal preference, I get it though, when you want your phone to want everything you need sometimes that is a big ask especially in this phone space, when you have very minimal needs its a much easier experience but everyone has a different lifestyle.
For me yeah I literally just need it to call and text, would it be nice if it had podcasts? Yes but I am not sideloading them because I don’t listen to podcasts every day, would it be nice if it had directions turn by turn? Yes, but I have a old school gps in my car and my wife on longer trips has a iphone with waze a great directions tool.
Even the the slower texting experience I actually throughly enjoy it, I have adhd so it really helps me slow down and be mindful when I type and breathe, I already know like you said without even holding the phone that its going to be the best phone I have ever owned and will continue to give me a calm, peaceful, DISTRACTIONLESS life

100% agree with you on this. What GPS do you use btw? I was thinking about just turning my old De-Googled Pixel into a standalone GPS using OpenMaps. My problem with buying a Garmin or something is that they make you create an account and sometimes download an app

I did not have to create an account with Garmin to use my Garmin DriveSmart 65 with HD Traffic (bought a few years ago but no longer sold). And, I did not have to download an app to use it. It includes updates (via WiFi) for life for the firmware and the map data (much based on HERE as a data source).
As a backup to my Garmin device, I put HERE WeGo on my CalyxOS-deGoogled Pixel 6, which I can use without a SIM as a navigation device.

it is so old school I forget the name lol, I will check if I use my car today, but its awesome it gets the job done gets me where I want to go, I do wish the kompakt gets turn by turn though, if it doesnt I may cave and sideload here maps which I heard it good, only because I have a cool holder for the kompakt so I can use it for turn by turn directions

This is a response buy the Mudita team on kickstarter from someone asking about the NA Kompakt, this was posted 3 days ago:
The air delivery carrying the long-awaited Kompakt devices for North America has already landed in Europe. Once customs clearance is complete, it’ll travel by truck - roughly 1,000 kilometers (about 620 miles) to our warehouse in Poland.
That’s where we’ll prepare and ship each order directly to you.
I wish you could meet Karol, our Logistics Manager. He’s calm, focused, and one of those rare people who never overpromise. It’s one of the reasons I really enjoy working with him.
Karol assured me that we’re on track to begin shipping Kompakt orders to the US and Canada this May. As soon as he gives me a confirmed start date (with at least 90% certainty), I’ll let you know right away.
Thank you so much for your continued support, trust, and patience. It truly means a lot.
