NA optimized iMessage transfer issues

Has anyone had issues transferring from ios to the kompakt?

I transferred from an iPhone SE 3rd gen: fully deregistered my physical sim with T-mobile and confirmed this with apple support staff. I was having trouble receiving SMS messages from many of my friends/family with apple devices.: android devices are delivering SMS fine. I visited T-mobile and they claimed everything connectivity wise was good on their end. I double checked with apple and my former imessage account is deregistered. I had my friends/family even delete my contact and then attempt to text me manually via my number, and SMS still would not go through. All of them have SMS delivery enabled on their messages settings. Any thoughts or troubleshooting I should be attempting? I am incredibly frustrated by this point.

Since iMessage can reference/ use both phone numbers and email addresses, it might be helpful to ensure that any iMessage groups don’t reference email address. If there are group lists they can be recreated with just phone numbers. Another try might be to have others delete and recreate your contacts as i think Apple contacts might remember that you were an iPhone user, so have them also change the phone number from ‘iphome’ to mobile. I can’t verify these potential solutions will work, just ideas.

@chardog I’m sorry if you’re experiencing some challenges. Have you tried this:

Yep I already did that: other people are having this same issue on a different thread as well

@chardog Let me pick the minds of out dev team to see if they have any ideas.
I wonder if this is just the US or are people outside of the US with the Global Version having these issues too.

I have had success with my wife texting me from her mac using imessage, that turned the bubbles green and I can receive the sms, also before deregistering I turned off RCS in the iphone, did you turn off RCS? If not maybe their devices are still trying to send you an RCS not an SMS.

Do you have a MacBook or iPad? I had to uncheck the box on my MacBook and my iPad in the Message settings that allowed it to send iMessage to my phone number. I can still get iMessages through my email address, but this did seem to force most conversations to go as SMS from other iPhone users. One exception was already established group messages - some broke and some aren’t coming through. I didn’t have a ton of those, so I just asked the people to start a new group and that sent via SMS automatically. Hope you can get it resolved!

Update on my end: it seems to be a t-mobile issue if you are switching over from an iPhone. I just switched over to visible from t-mobile and now I am receiving all messages fine. I am not sure what is the hangup on t-mobile’s end, but I could not get it to work after the transfer from my old iPhone even after deregistering and turning off rcs.
