Hi, I only recently ordered Mudita Kompakt. I have some queries around music playback in cars entertainment systems. I assume Bluetooth music playback will be possible and the default method. But can you connect directly to the car as a usb drive?
The reason I ask is because I use flac sound tracks and they sound better connected directly to the car via usb cable or headphone jacket. But will that work?
I know from owning a Sony Walkman that is android base that new cars will try and load Android auto, which won’t work anyway. But if I connected via the headphone jack cable would a car see it as a mp3 player. More curious if I will just have to use Bluetooth for music play back. I believe flac music files are supported but are you able to confirm?
To transfer music tracks can I insert a usb flash drive to the usb-c port on the Mudita and copy the files off the flash drive directly onto the Mudita?

Hello @nimblyas
Regarding your questions about the Mudita Kompakt and car music playback:
- Bluetooth playback: Yes, Bluetooth is the default and most straightforward method to play music from the Mudita Kompakt to your car’s entertainment system.
- USB connection: Unfortunately, the Mudita Kompakt does not support acting as a USB mass storage device when connected to a car. So you can’t connect it as a USB drive to play music directly via USB.
- Headphone jack: Connecting via the headphone jack to your car’s aux input should work like a standard MP3 player or any audio device, but the car won’t recognize it as a USB device — it’s just analog audio input.
- FLAC support: The Mudita Kompakt supports FLAC playback, so you’ll get good quality audio whether via Bluetooth or headphone out.
- Transferring files: You can insert a USB flash drive into the Mudita’s USB-C port and copy files directly from the flash drive onto the device — it supports OTG functionality for this.
Hope this helps!

This helps very much, and much the same as my Sony Walkman. Really looking forward to a headphone jack port. Cheers

Glad to hear it helps! The headphone jack is definitely a great feature for those who prefer a straightforward, reliable connection—especially for better audio quality. Looking forward to enjoying that classic Walkman-style experience with the Kompakt too.
