This might be a very silly question but as someone who is privacy oriented is everything local and on device?
its something im going to check when i get mine next week sometime. but i know that it doesnt have google play services installed, so theres no constant calling back to google there.
it does have SMS so thats not local obviously, you send and receive messages.
whether they stripped out some lower level android callbacks which may exist outside of google play services im not sure if they’ve said.
theres also the usual, GSM, bluetooth, etc
DNS by default on AOSP doesn’t use DoH and im not sure if Mudita enabled this or if its configurable in the default UI. still important even without a browser.
no doubt ill be doing some experiments to find out ![]()
awesome! excited to see your results!
the phone does not use private / encrypted DNS it defaults to the carrier DNS, this makes sense as it means Mudita aren’t making a decision on what DNS you use, but with no UI option for private DNS theres no easy way to set it yourself.
its not end of the world but it would be nice to have
Thank you for the update!
You can set private DNS via adb, however i would not generally recommend for your average person
