Mudita Kompakt up for sale

After much deliberation my kompakt journey is ending, I realized something when I was away from my kompakt for about 8 hours this past weekend, I enjoyed not having a phone on me specifically one that looks like a smart phone. I think I am just old school and I want a pure dumb phone experience. I have gotten by for 4 years without the kompakt and I am confident I can continue to do so. Have no decided what I am going to do yet. I am contemplating getting the Sunbeam blue jay which is a call only phone and making that my main driver, but using the Nokia 225 when I need to be able to text, or I may just grab a old punkt that is cumbersome to type on, not sure yet, but what I do know is I am happiest when I am truly distraction free. My addicted brain just needs a full stop break, I enjoy life truly offline.

I think the flip form factor is probably the best for me as it encourages me to use the phone as little as possible.

My phone is on sale on reddit, if you are interested you can also message me here. I am asking 325 american plus shipping.

I decided not to break the bank on my next phone, I am going with the TCL flip 2, found one online for about 60 bux canadian, even has a crappy browser on it that can act as a browser if I need to look things up, never thought I would be giving up my Kompakt for a flip phone but I always listen to my gut and my gut is screaming for simplicity

I pulled the trigger and got the TCL Go flip 2 refurbished, after much thought I was not going to spend 400 dollars to get a sunbeam again when this phone does exactly what the sunbeam does, you can even sideload some useful apps if need be, more complicated process but it remains an option, excited to further simplify my life

I’m kinda surprised, but happy for you! I hope it’s a positive change.

Yeah I am surprised to tell you the truth, but I am out and about today with my crappy nokia 225 and I love it lol. I just feel like at this point in my life after severe tech addiction for years, now the advancement of AI, I am really just turned off technology, I want to live as analog of a life as possible. We shall see this time next year if the price of the LP3 has dropped I may venture back in but what I love about light is its a pure dumb phone, when I look at my needs that company I think is more aligned with what I need in my life, If the Mudita Pure worked here in Canada I honestly would have went back to that phone but alas it does not work here. My TCL Go flip 2 gets here today.

My goal with this phone is not have it on me, if I am with my kids at home and my wife, this phone will be turned off and put upstairs far away from me. If my wife leaves the house I will turn it on so she can reach me, my goal this entire summer is to live as analog as a life as possible. I am not even going to use the calendar on my flip phone so I don’t need to have it on to remind me of things. I am going to carry around a pocket sized calendar to write events in that I can review during the day.

I always listen to my gut and my gut tells me this is the route to go, as I said I just feel more happier and at peace today. The kompakt has been factory reset and shut off waiting to be sold

Here are some pics of my soon to be new phone lol:

@anon7028788 On one hand, I’m sad that you’re giving up your Kompakt, cuz you waited so long for it. However, I’m super impressed that you’re going even further with your digital minimalism. Kudos to you for that. Personally- I’m not sure I could do it.

I feel you bro. I wish I had a landline again (that solid one that worked without power at home lol). I’ve been looking up modern state of pagers and it seems there are no pager networks in Poland so perhaps there’s something like an SMS-inbox-only beeper on the market.

A phone that calls and texts is enough but all under hundred bucks seems to have severe deficiencies. The best I had was Nokia 2660 Flip but when it broke, I got back to search for a better option. Didn’t look at 2G-only phones, didn’t look at Sunbeam because although great - it doesn’t work in the EU and I’ve been assured there are no such plans.

MK seems the first solid thing that’s not a smartphone, solid because it can get its fixes unlike Nokia’s S30+. I only wish a phone like that was cheaper to be more competitive to smartphones (fair enough Motorolas and Samsungs are half or a third of the MK price).

What Kompakt helped me to discover, I have some deeper issue with myself. Moved all personal stuff out to a home laptop, blocked Youtube and social media on corporate laptop, and I had days where I’ve been spending well over an hour scrolling through news websites… O_o’
