I wondered if the file types for the Mudita Kompakt ebook reader and media player can be shared? I am looking forward to using both apps extensively and it would be helpful if mutliple filetypes were compatible with Mudita KOS.
I recall that Mudita shared that ePUB and PDF were the two file types supported by the Kompakt E-reader.
Thanks Kirk. And me being new to the world of ebooks, do those types cover most bases/use cases?
They cover the non-Amazon ebooks. Amazon has had many proprietary ebook file types over the years; all are focused on keeping buyers in the Amazon Kindle world.
Mudita’s comments at the Kickstarter page imply that the Kompakt will display images (presumably including JPEG) and play MP3 audio files.
@kirkmahoneyphd You are right. It’s ePub & PDF
That suits most cases. I have downloaded audio via Newpipe and tried to upload to Mudita Harmony and Pure but the filetype is not recognised. Hopefully the Kompakt, being based on Android, might recognise more filetypes. I often use VLC Media Player and that is excellent.
See CBR, its not that complex
What is a CBR file? A file with a . cbr extension is a collection of images stored as compressed binary files using the RAR compression file format . It contains images in JPEG, PNG or GIF images that represent images in a comic and are shown to user when the file is used in ebook readers such as Calibre.
