Nice! yeah could care less about the animations just as long as I can listen to podcasts until HOPEFULLY mudita releases its own podcast tool. Really excited for the Kompakt and VERY HAPPY I cancelled my light phone 3 order. Kompakt is e-ink which I LOVE and SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper for me here in Canada
@han Apple Music might be tricky. Mudita Kompakt is not an Apple product, so it might not work at all on Android.
The app works without Google services. And there is an Apple Music android app.
Apple Music has been available on Android since 2015. If Mudita is going to only test side loading compatibility for Spotify , then the Kompakt is not for me.
Spotify’s privacy policy is much worse than Apple Music. They partner with Facebook and other data brokers for their targeted ad network.
Given Mudita’s official stance on side-loading, I do not expect Mudita to test the side-loading of any AOSP-compatible app.
Instead, I hope that those of us who get the Kompakt will report here on the forum what their experiences are with side-loading various AOSP-compatible apps.
I’m not requesting official support and thorough testing. Only that Mudita validates that the most popular app categories like streaming services retain their core functionality when sideloaded.
In the livestream, Mudita stated already they’ve tested Spotify. They should do the same for other streaming services.
@Jose_Briones is the man to ask to, however there are so many apps different people like, we could / should turn that :“two apps” thread into some counter what apps en general forum users are most interested to.
Spotify looks nice, but to me, they have limited choices, use Internet and are dependent on IP
I advise you to check @magnatesmedia YT channel on history of various services we take for granted
There is a video on Spotify, that started very illehaly and legalized in process. Which does not mean they might not lose some licenses in future.
So on net streaming music media, You Tube Music is way more secure since it share profit directly with IP owners
Rob Braxman makes a strong point in this video – released yesterday – that end-to-end encryption in messaging apps such as Session, Signal, and Telegram will become meaningless when at least one of the parties is using a device – such as Apple iPhone 16 with Apple Intelligence, or Google Pixel 9 Pro with Google Gemini – that “Sees what you see / Hears what you hear / Knows what you know” due to AI embedded in the device:
Is AI really used to decrypt end to end decryption? (Ultra reading Enigma
and if so, is there a way to disable new AI in Android / iOS?
Is it software based (AI app installed, OS feat that might be disabled) or HW oriented (since many companies like Apple in M series, AMD in future chips, new ARM chips) announce HW assisted AI?
No, iPhone 16, as an example, does not have to decrypt end-to-end encryption. iPhone 16 simply sees everything that a user sees – BEFORE the user SENDS a message and AFTER the user RECEIVES a message. If you have further questions about this, then watch this other video:
If its true (and one source is not enough) its very sad. Publicly and in tech foras, its still claim all of iOS communication is end to end, secure and private.
Since I dont intend using iOS part with Android is even weirder, do new Android phones do the same, and if yes, after which version?
Not to flood this important thread, I opened new thread
My understanding is that Google Pixel 9 with Google Gemini Advanced can do much the same thing that iPhone 16 with Apple Intelligence can do – seeing what you see, hearing what you hear, and knowing what you know.
