Mudita Center on a Raspberry Pi

Hello!

I use a Raspberry Pi 4 as my only PC. I chose the Raspberry Pi for the same main reason I have chosen Mudita Pure: Digital Minimalism.

How do I go about running the Mudita Center software on my Raspberry Pi with its ARM processor? I am using the latest official Raspberry Pi Operating System.

I have downloaded the AppImage file and set its permissions to allow it to be executed, however nothing happens when I execute the file.

@Wojciech_Cichon I think you’d be the best person to tackle this question.

Thanks for letting us know - what is the Linux distro you’re running on that Raspberry Pi?

I am using the ‘buster’ release of the official Raspberry Pi OS, based on the Debian 10 buster Linux distribution. I see that a new version of the Raspberry OS has just been released code-named ‘bullseye’ (based on Debian 11 bullseye), so will likely be upgrading to that at some point in the near future.

What he means and i meant when i asked in other forums laptops now can run intel cpus and also ARM cpus the cpus usually in phones are now running in laptops and your app you guys put out has to be compiled to run on both intel/amd and arm chips not all linux apps run on arm cpus do to the developer not putting in the lil bit of extra work needed to make it run on arm cpus https://www.reddit.com/r/linux/comments/2q9mwq/is_running_linux_on_an_arm_processor_any_different/ read that for an explanation https://youtu.be/2-m8HmJ8CfU and thats the laptop i own with an arm cpu vs x86 which i feel your app is only compiled to run on if my hunch is right.

ive tryed it on 3 arm cpu based laptops wont work ive confirmed thats what it is youy have to compile it for ARM not just intel as it is or else we arm laptop owners wont be able to use it hope i wont have to buy another laptop just to use this important application with my pure phone

so we just need mudita to write an arm linux version of the app as with out the mudita center app its not worth owning the phone and id hate to have to cancel my order

Oh no! All new Macs have an M1 processor (ARM) aswell. Great if its coming soon, a showstopper for some people without intel…

This is only a linux on arm problem on M1 macs it will just work thanks to apple making a technology called rosetta 2 that lets all intel based Mac apps run on ARM based macs

your welcome i just wanted to clearly explain to them what the issue was so they could quickly get a fix for us arm linux users out this is why i love this company they always respond quickly to the communities requests and concerns and do their best to always try to solve them ive been a linux user sence 1996 when slackware linux came on like 21 floppy discs and you had to write your own drivers for most stuff back then linux has come a long way sence then where almost everything just works and drivers are written for everything. and also by solving our arm linux laptop and raspberry pi issue the app will also work on linux tablets that use arm cpus and linux phones that use arm cpus so ill be able to use the mudita center on my arm laptop and arm linux tablet real handy for me.

As @jameshjacksonjr mentioned, everything should be OK on the new Macs: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT211861

Hi @Wojciech_Cichon. Has there been any further developments with making Mudita Center compatible with Raspberry Pi and other ARM based Linux computers?
