Molly is a chat app compatible with the Signal protocol. It allows you to communicate with your Signal friends while having multiple improvements such as OpenStreetMap integration and support for multiple clients on multiple phones

Another issue is that, due to the lack of notification panel on the Mudita, when you receive a call and miss it, you will not know if this was a phone call or a Molly call (same problem with Signal)
App takes over a minute to load the home screen and another two minutes to load a chat when I click on one. Also frequently crashes for me. I’ve reported issues multiple times, devs don’t seem interested in responding or improving performance.
Wonderful hardened Signal implementation. The only problem is that it can’t work in the background (even if you disable Duraspeed) It can either stay open (and drain a lot of battery) or you close it. I have not checked if Signal is better in that. I tried to use ntfy and UnifiedPush, did not work for me (on 2 separate devices).
It has a merit too: I have to open my messaging app to be reachable and to read what is going on. Sometimes that is not bad
