Mark all topics read

Below each message it says “New & Unread Topics” even if there are no new topics (Latest shows no topics). However all topics from the past remain unread and I can’t open them all. @urszula , is there a way to mark everything from the past as read, that I missed. There’s also something weard with the chronological order of posts. It happens so often that when I read the topics above the line ‘Since your last visit’ that the topics below that line (which contain unread posts) seem completely in random error. I don’t what forum you’re running, but it drives me nuts. I can’t find posts back, several posts with tagged users remain unanswered, while questions later to the same person are being answered. I’ve send you (@urszula ) 3 or 4 DM’s over the past two monhs, which just remain unanswered (I’ve deleted them by now, assuming it was a broken feature). i am the only one struggling with the forum or are there others who recognizes any of this?

@anon43857326 Since the update last month, there have been some issues on the forum- The DMs is something that I’ve also raised- I’m not getting notifications & it’s something that I’ve already brought up with the team.

Yes, I’m aware. But to return to my question, is the no way to mark all posts read? The ironic part is that now there allways unread message (even it says there not), it shows all old topics with unread messages below the latest posts, which results in… exactly, doomscrolling.

As don’t receive DM’s or don’t get notified, could you please create a category Forum, for all the forum related issues. It’s honestly driving me nuts.

@anon43857326 Unfortunately not yet. I have passed this on to the team.

@urszula I only just noticed we have two double categories ,”Privacy and security” and “Privacy & Security”. If it isn’t possible to create new tags, would it be possible to rename one of them to “Forum”?

I think it’s for the person(s) behind the forum much easier which issues we’re having so they can be adequately fixed, instead of being the messenger to pass things through. It’s currently only possible to tag them as ‘Other’ which just about everything we could place anywhere else.

I can understand the forum is not your highest priority, but potential customers make clear time and time again fhat they’re happy there’s lively community of Mudita users, developers and of course staff, which must be good for sales too. Don’t underestimate the power of a supporting community.

The cry for improvements to the forum dates back to May last year and I see all kinds of new things I’ve never asked for (some of which are very useful, others I could happily live without), but it seems that the core (and the main issues along with it) aren’t dealth with.

With kind regards,

Marco

I am aware- One was from the Mudita Pure days & one was created for Mudita Kompakt. I will ask the team to make sure it’s known which one is which.

I recently started using the Kompakt phone and I have a lowered my expectations.

Now I ask myself why should I expect the Mudita forum software to work perfectly?

@smuch My grandpa used to always tell me that if everything worked perfectly from the beginning, there would be no reason to grow, improve, or evolve.
The way I look at it, progress is built through iterations, adjustments, and learning what can be better tomorrow than it was today. That’s true for technology, and honestly, for life itself.

The Mudita concept Kompakt phone cost is high for what it does and leaves a lot of things open for improvement.

@smuch
A product that leaves room for improvement is a product that’s still alive. The most meaningful ideas are rarely finished on day ONE. They evolve through feedback, refinement, and the people willing to believe in what they can become, not just what they are today.

Just take the Apple Watch for example. The first generations of the Apple Watch were widely criticized as slow, unclear in purpose, and overly dependent on the iPhone. Iteration turned it into one of Apple’s strongest product categories.

Dear @anon43857326, I appreciate you being here, and @urszula I know your job isn’t easy and I see both of you really do understand the community. Feedback hopefully will make a better product. The concerns I have probably have been shared before. I can understand frustration happens when expectations for corrective action are not met in a reasonable time. It’s more complicated than I realize sometimes to fix what seems like a minor thing to me.
