For example, the privacy-oriented BraX3 cellphone provides Assisted GPS by using a privacy-friendly, non-Google service as its Network Location Provider:
Hey Urszula, this is great, but I feel it does not address the current issue that the system is not easily finding addresses I know and enter. If I look for an address, most of the time I am not there, rather I want to get there, so GPS does not really help. So often I know street, town, and postal code, but still maps will not find it. Perhaps there is a very specific order for entering these? Then please publish this, but better provide an intuitive experience.
@urszula Second this comment. I had to sideload a Maps app purely because I cannot find any address in the Mudita one. Not being able to search for anything makes the app completely non-functional. (North America Version).
I really feal CalmDirectory is a great addition. The current issue with Calmdirectory in the version I have is that it cannot show me the map once I have found something, would be great if this could become a more powerful entry gate to maps
I’ve reached out to the team for some feedback on this situation. I know there will be some updates with maps in the future, BUT I don’t have the specifics.
@kirkmahoneyphd I’m still waiting for specifics, but from what I was told it will be an optional feature. If you do not want to use it, it can remain off.
Thank you, @urszula. The good news is that the Kompakt can remain a PRIVACY-oriented cellphone even with Assisted GPS enabled IF Mudita can implement Assisted GPS in a manner similar to what Brax Technologies has done for the BraX3 cellphone.
