While I do appreciate the team’s dedication to reduced distractions, wouldn’t a Signal notification counter fulfill the same function as the already-existing SMS counter that appears on the lock screen? Perhaps a feature could allow the user to choose which apps are allowed to display notification counters on the lock screen. Then users could customize this option to allow only essential communication apps to display. In my case, this would be just Signal and SMS, but it sounds like there are plenty of users who use Signal and WhatsApp for work, which would also be quite essential to see at first-glance whether or not messages are being missed.

@urszula I have the same experience as @stephenshutters here. It is more distracting to have to constantly unlock the phone and check Signal than it would be to tell at a quick glance whether I have a new message.

I’d love to be able to see missed notifications as well without having to pick up and unlock my phone.

Our team is aware of this need. I haven’t gotten a concrete answer as to how they plan to address it, but they know that this is something that Mudita Kompakt user are looking for. I will ask again.
