Kompakt: No Group Messages Even after Switching to Mint

So… this is a last ditch effort. If I can’t get group texts to work reliably I’ll have to switch phones. I need them for work. Any help would really be appreciated.
I just switched from Verizon to Mint Mobile thinking this would solve the issue of not receiving group messages, but to my dismay nothing has changed. (Several others said group msgs, and pics worked flawlessly on Mint for them).
I have “single mms group message” enabled. It appears that when I text a group they do receive it (mostly??), but when they text me (initiate a group or respond) I don’t receive it. Sometimes I get a vibration, but no actual text. Other times I don’t even get a vibration. It shows sent on their end but nothing on my end. I need to be able to receive these texts without having to initiate them as well (for work).
I configured my APN settings according to Mint’s specs for Android.
APN Settings

  • Name – Mint
  • APN – Wholesale
  • Proxy – (leave blank)
  • Port – (leave blank)
  • Username – (leave blank)
  • Password – (leave blank)
  • Server – (leave blank)
  • MMSC – http://wholesale.mmsmvno.com/mms/wapenc
  • Multimedia Message Proxy – (leave blank)
  • Multimedia Message Port – 8080
  • MCC – (do not change default values)
  • MNC – (do not change default values)
  • Authentication Type – (leave blank)
  • APN Type – default,supl,mms,ia
  • APN Protocol – IPv4/IPv6
  • APN Roaming Protocol – IPv4/IPv6
  • MVNO type: GID
  • MVNO value: 756D

I also read on here that LineageOS can possibly fix this issue? However, I’m not sure I’m ready to do that, as I’m not technically that savvy and don’t want to mess up my phone or void my warranty/customer support.
Also yes, I have taken my phone number off of imessage. (was never on Google)
Please help if you can!

Just to cover all basis, have you enabled group messages & you’ve set the settings for group message

Even if you were never on Google messages, you still need to deregister your number from RCS messages via google. Apple started supporting RCS this last year, so if you used your iPhone recently your number will still be associated with RCS.

Keep in mind too, after you deregister from RCS it will take 30 days until your number is removed from previous RCS group chats. Until that point, anyone’s phone that has a chat with your number in it associated with RCS will still try and send RCS messages, even after deregistering. After the 30 days this should be resolved fully.

The nuclear option is just making a new number that has never been associated with RCS if you absolutely can’t wait. You”d just need to reestablish your contact with everyone else.

Just here to say my 30 days ended yesterday and group messaging is now working - hoorah! So from my experience the 30 day window was true down to the exact day. For anyone out there waiting, it will get better!

So, it does look like it takes TIME & that time is 30 days. Thank you for this feedback.

@urszula - yes I have those settings enabled.
Thanks all. I have heard of this. A while back I also put my number into Google’s RCS form to deregister and it said that it wasn’t in their system. I just went back to double check with this link https://messages.google.com/disable-chat and put my number in again. This time I did get a text code, but it’s telling me I put the code in wrong… which I had double checked and was correct, and now I have to wait because I’ve requested too many codes… ayayay Unfortunately Google support for this is nonexistent from a human.
In the meantime, I may put my sim card back into my iphone so that I can receive group messages again. I’ll just make sure I have imessage turned off and when I can I’ll make sure that I’m de registered from RCS, and after 30 days I’ll try again with the Kompakt…

What confuses me though is that a few weeks ago, I was briefly receiving the group mms messages, while still on Verizon - only a few days after removing my number from imessage. However, it didn’t last long before I stopped receiving the messages.

@mauricevellas I presented your case to our team. They are investigating it. I wonder if we are missing something.
