Writing this because many folks on the forum (myself included) post multitudes of complaints, but I want to make it clear that there are many, many things I appreciate about the Kompakt that have led to me daily driving the device for months. First off, I LOVE the design - Mudita’s design language is beautiful, and manages to make the device and every one of its apps feel full and functional, but not crowded. Never ONCE have I looked at an app or system component and been like that’s ugly, or that’s bloat and I don’t want it there. EVERY app serves a purpose and does pretty much exactly what you’d expect it to do. The sounds are also really nice - the little doorbell dings of the ringtone, the little bell of a calendar event popping up, even the chime of an SMS notification (categorically I find SMS notification sounds incredibly irritating, but the Kompakt’s is certainly the most tolerable).
The size is perfect, it fits right in your hand or a jeans pocket without feeling like a brick. Offline plus is a great addition, the display is crisp and well suited to reading and daily tasks, and the new keyboard from 1.5 is great for writing out messages and notes. I rarely go through more than 50% of battery in a day, even with heavy use, hours of audible playback, and several sideloaded apps running in the background. I really like the fact that most sideloaded apps are not design cohesive with the native apps, since it drastically reduces the temptation to install unnecessary apps from outside sources. With the Kompakt, I’ve eliminated almost every phone related bad habit and simplified my phone use tremendously. I plan to keep using it for the foreseeable future, and even the fiercest critics on the forum have to admit that despite our laundry lists of complaints, we’re all still here. Also have to thank @gezimos since his apps have given me workarounds to every issue I have. Anyway, just wanted to give the team something nice to read - keep up the good work!
