Kompakt & Apple Os X

I’m happy with my Mudita Kompakt, but I’m really disappointed about the lack of a basic feature: transferring photos to my iMac. It feels like a must-have function that shouldn’t require workarounds. What solutions did others come up with ?

There are some threads here with good solutions. The search function is a bless here on the forum.

Yes, I agree, not being able to download photos from your phone is frustrating for macOS users. I first solved this via Open MTP https://openmtp.macupdate.com/ . I wasn’t completely convinced.
Then I installed the Proton mail app on my phone and send my photos via mail.

If you have Proton mail, don’t you also have Proton Drive? Then it can be an option to just use the drive to sync the photos you need.

For people that want to do it wirelessly and don’t mind sideloading
https://localsend.org/ is available for Windows/Mac/Linux/Android/iOS

I personally am using OpenMTP

I use LocalSend to send and receive staff from the Kompakt may it be a document or an image.
For photos in particular I find the Kompakt to be too clunky to shoot so I got a Fuji X30.

Yes, I tried all mentioned options (OpenMTP is unreliable to me, sometimes it works sometimes it does not). It just does not feel right that there is not building solution. For now I will keep using my linux laptop to get files of the Kompact. Here its just shown as an external drive.

It works only in Legacy mode for the Kompakt. The Plug icon on top row

Thanks for the information, I’m just getting familiar with the Proton app. Yes, I see Proton Drive there as well

Tried that, still sometimes it connects sometimes it does not. Tried all the tips they provide. Strangely it works flawless with my Nothing phone-.

Oh I remember there were some issues with other software interrupting, like OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox, GarminExpress and anything that can be connected to a removable device.

Might still fall under the convoluted workaround category, but I’ve always just used a Google Voice number on my laptop to send urls and other info to.

Another Mac user here. OpenMTP is fine when you’re only transferring a handful of files, but I notice that when you try to transfer a lot of files, it fails. I tried LocalSend this weekend and the transfer rate is fast, but I’m not sure it’s a solution for transferring lots of files either.

UPDATE: Once this functionality is added to Mudita Center- it will be much easier.

For Mac users as well? I shouldn’t have to sideload to get my photos.

@Ecokafenio Once the new release of Mudita Center comes out, you’ll be about to BOTH preview photos and export them to your computer without any sideloading.

This isn’t implemented in release 1.2 yet, is it? I can’t transfer my photos from Mudita to my Mac yet. Or have I missed something? Thanks in advance.

Do you have the latest Mudita Center software installed @gisju?

I have the latest Mudita Center software installed 3.1.0 an I used a Mac and I can not download the photos, only and other photos. And now?

Sorry if this probably won’t help in this conversation, but I’m always stunned about how restrictive Mac OS is and still people sing praise from the rooftops about how “easy” it is compared to other OS’es. Meanwhile you just connect your Kompakt via USB to your Windows or Linux desktop and you can simply copy photos from and to your device via your preferred file manager.
