Joplin — Community App Review
Version: 3.5.8

If you’re looking for a notes app that works well on the Mudita and doesn’t require a third-party cloud service, Joplin is worth a look.

The interface is clean and text-focused. Just a notebook list, a note list, and then the note itself. That simplicity is a great fit for e-Ink. No unnecessary chrome, no animations, no color-dependent UI. Just notes in black and white.

Performance is solid with minor lag that’s totally acceptable on e-Ink hardware. Scrolling through notes and switching notebooks is responsive enough that it stays out of your way.

For privacy-minded Mudita users the sync options are where it shines. Joplin supports WebDAV, so you can sync directly to your own server. I’m using Seafile, but Nextcloud works just as well. Your notes never touch a third party server, and everything stays in sync with your Mac or PC. If you’re already self-hosting, this is a really satisfying setup.

It also supports Dropbox, OneDrive, and their own Joplin Cloud service starting around four dollars a month. There’s a lot of sync options and it is very stable.

I installed from F-Droid, pointed it at my service and that’s it. Notes I write on my Mac show up on the Mudita within minutes.
