When I’m on a call using the MK, if I receive an incoming call, the present call is disconnected. As there is call waiting/swapping functionality, there is no record of that other call anywhere. CORRECTION: There is call-swapping functionality.
While searching these forums I noticed this issue also affected the Pure.
Have others experienced this? This one might be worth testing because it’s core functionality.
I just tested this. I was able to put the first call on hold and switch to the second call. I was able to switch back and forth between the two calls. Upon hanging up on the second caller, the Kompakt returned me to the first call. After I hung up on the first call, I saw both numbers/contacts in the Recents tab/page of the Phone app.
Thanks for testing this @kirkmahoneyphd. After your successful test I had two incoming calls and found that I was able to swap between them. Them process was quite smooth actually, but for one thing – after swapping between callers, I put one caller on hold for 5-8 minutes and that line dropped. This test was repeated with the same result.
I’m not sure what to make of it. What do you make of it?
@kirkmahoneyphd Thank you for testing this. @petemeister Could this be a case where CALL WAITING needs to be activated with the network provider? Or perhaps (and I’m just speculating here) your network provider does not offer this option. For example my call plan does not have this option. When I’m on the phone, I do not get notified when someone is calling me. After I hang up, I get this text message:
Yes, I’m happy to say that there is call waiting on the MK and call swapping. I was speculating whether multiple calls might have been responsible for the dropped call I experienced, but subsequent tests were fine, so we can close the case on this.
