Hey there, I just observed two issues with the gallery in Mudita OS K 1.3.0 and hope they could be fixed.
First, the resolution of photos in the gallery seem to be pretty low. This is maybe related to some performance topic, but I always struggle to have the correct feeling whether it is a good and sharp photo or not. So very often I take three or four pictures of the same scene because of this - and because of the real annoying focus and exposure issue of the current camera app, as already discussed in the forum. But when I send pictures through WhatsApp, they look much better.
The second topic is related to the zoom function of the gallery. Let’s stay at the picture shown above for explanation. At 100 % zoom level, I can see the whole picture. But the more I zoom in, the edges get more and more lost. It is like a hidden frame that becomes smaller with each zoom level. The following screenshot shows a 600 % zoom level and I swiped to the left as much as I could. You can clearly see, that this is not the real edge of the picture as the text is already cut. But I cannot move further.
I have this problem too. Sometimes I want to read text on a picture I took, and it’s impossible because of this. Not an urgent fix, but definitely annoying.
I see what you guys mean. I tried this with Kompakt & yes, it seems a bit unclear ON THE DEVICE, but once I downloaded to the computer, the photo looks fine.
I have the same problem, thanks for raising this!
Sure, the pictures are saved in high quality but I have been in situations multiple times where I have taken a picture of text to remember it only to find that I couldn’t read it on the device. I think this is an important issue that needs to be fixed!
The thing is, that it is not a restriction from the device itself, but just from the gallery app. That’s why I compared it to the image quality of WhatsApp, both on the Mudita Kompakt. This comparison clearly shows, that the Kompakt is able to deliver much better image quality even on the E-Ink screen. It is only an app issue, same for the zoom topic.
