Please implement a 2 player mode on the Chess app so two people can play

I own the mudita kompakt since decemeber, but never really used it because sw was a problem. It was very slow, TO ME not usable as my main device. I tried it again after applying the 1.5.0 update and hardresetting it, starting from 0. It is a fine update. Not really spectacular, but a amazing update regarding the system, stability, keyboard etc. Much faster, even with this old hardware (chipset, ram, android system etc.). It should have been that way since the beginning. Still, great update.
What I don’t get is why the customizable lockscreen (display off) is still not available. It was to be launched I believe in the first half of 2026, now it doesn’t even come with the next 1.6.0 update according to the roadmap. Why? Is it so hard to get this screen to work with customizable settings. Most users I think would only need maybe time and notifications (and maybe a short cusomizable text). This feature could change the way we use this phone and it gets postponed all the time. Why? Can you please ask the egineers? I would like to understand it. With this fetaure we could use the kompakt even less or differently because we already see the most important thing, notifications, on the lock-lockscreen.
Of course stability and keyboard is very important. But why is it posponed again to an update in the future and not the next update?
And what is really stupid is that in the music app we can’t listen to a song and put this song directly in a playlist via a setting on the playing screen. Every simple music player has this feature. That is the reason why I need to use a third party player. Please implement this feature in the next update. It shouldn’ be too hard to do that. Add to Playlist button for a song within the now playing screen.

I, for one, do not want the device’s battery getting used up to refresh the lock screen on a regular interval. I don’t find it too much of an imposition to click the power button if I want to see the time.

Seems reasonable. But a setting for exactly THIS would be very nice. You can turn it on or off, and on with maybe 2 or 3 information to choose or deny. On my ereader there is the title cover of the last read book. So ereader have this feature in a way.
One more imo really important thing: I don’t want any app to stay in the background, only when using it. You can change that setting in general within the developer settings. But after a new start it turns itself back to standard instated of no process. Annoying.
Please add settings for each app to stay in background or not like with normal android os. This is important because otherwise you have many apps running in the background. It is annoying too to always have to go to the app setting and stop it manually. Please add this which is normal with every android os out there to choose in the app setting background process or not.
Battery life with several apps installed is indeed NOT good with the kompakt. Maybe the missing settings for background process is a part of it. My very small and quite cheap Bluefox NX1 and Unihertz Jelly (not big battery) with aosp no gms rom and turned off background process for almost anything and same apps installed has MUCH longer battery life.

We are glad to hear that you have noticed meaningful improvements in performance, stability, and the keyboard, even if the overall update did not feel particularly exciting from a feature perspective.
We understand your frustration regarding the customizable display-off screen, especially since this is a feature you have been anticipating for some time. Development priorities sometimes need to change as the team identifies stability issues, essential fixes, or other improvements that require more immediate attention. Features that may appear relatively straightforward from the outside can also involve additional technical considerations, particularly when they affect the system interface, notifications, battery consumption, and E Ink behavior.
That doesn’t mean the feature has been forgotten. It’s still on the roadmap for this year & I will pass your feedback to the team, including your point that even a relatively simple configuration showing the time, notifications, and an optional short message could significantly change how you interact with the device.
Regarding the Music Player, I understand that you would like to add the song that is currently playing directly to a playlist from the Now Playing screen. Could you confirm whether this is the specific workflow you are requesting, or whether you are also experiencing another difficulty with managing playlists? I just want to make sure I understand the challenge correctly before passing it along.
We really appreciate the feedback & I totally get that waiting for a particular feature can be disappointing, but each release requires the team to make difficult choices about which fixes and improvements are most important and realistic to deliver at that stage.

@twuki Regarding background processes, the option available in Developer Options is primarily intended for development and testing rather than as a permanent user setting, which may explain why it returns to its default value after the phone restarts.
I do understand that you would prefer a more accessible, per-app setting that allows you to restrict background activity without manually force-stopping each application. I will pass this request along as well.
It’s worth noting that an application appearing as a cached or background process doesn’t necessarily mean that it is actively running or significantly consuming power. However, please keep in mind that third-party applications can behave differently, and some may perform background activity more frequently than others.
To help us better understand the battery issue, could you share which third-party applications you have installed and approximately how long the battery lasts under your typical usage? It would also be useful to know whether the battery performance improves noticeably when those applications are removed. This would help distinguish between a general battery-management issue and the behavior of a particular application.
If you don’t want an app to drain battery in the background you can set background battery usage to “optimize” - this will require a third party tool (i.e. InkOS) to access the battery optimization menu. However, killing / force stopping an app may actually increase battery usage - backgrounding an app causes an app to pause execution and save its state. When you resume the app, it simply loads its state from memory and continues. However, if you force stop an app, the whole app needs to restart from scratch for you to use it again, which takes more time and battery.
