I have a very specific use case in mind for the Mudita Kompakt and wanted to check whether it’s feasible before buying the phone.
I would like to use the phone to take photos regularly and have them stored automatically on the microSD card — not on the internal storage. I don’t want to transfer them manually, and I also don’t want to use the Mudita Center desktop application. Just an instant, automatic transfer to the microSD card.
I would like to use the same microSD card to store my MP3 music collection. I regularly add new MP3s to this card via my MacBook. Preferably also directly on the micro SD Card and not via the mudita center desktop application.
My main question:
Would this setup work reliably, without issues, and without having to reformat the microSD card repeatedly?
I’m asking because I read a post on this forum mentioning that the feature to set the microSD card as internal storage doesn’t always work properly.
A few additional, unrelated questions:
Does the Mudita play MP3 files at 320 kbps?
What is the maximum length of a note in the standard Notes app?
Is there a way to open Markdown files on the phone (read-only, no editing) without sideloading an app?
Is there any way to back up or sync notes and/or the calendar? (doesnt matter if via mudita desktop application or micro SD card.

When it comes to photos, the native camera saves newly captured photos directly to the phone’s internal memory. However, you can transfer them the SD card via Mudita Center. They cannot be automatically saved onto it. "
Here’s something to keep in mind- the core issue (when user encounter problems with the MicroSD cards) stem from how the microSD card was configured. Mudita Kompakt is designed to use microSD cards as Portable storage for files like music, photos, and offline maps. Think of it like a zip/pen drive. However, it seems that the SD card in some users devices was configured as Adoptable (or Internal) storage. This is an unsupported feature, likely enabled by a sideloaded application prompting it to do that, which then treats the SD card as an extension of the phone’s internal memory, which it doesn’t support. Hopefully that makes sense.
When it comes to notes, you can practically write a book. There is no specific length limit - I believe it’s around 140 word pages (or approx 60000 words).
Currently there isn’t a way to backup or sync notes and/or the calendar? However, our team is aware that this is something that our community is looking for, and it’s under consideration.
I will ask the team if Kompakt can play MP3 files at 320 kbps because I’m actually not sure what that means, even though I play music on my device all the time But I don’t know what kbps it plays at.
And as far as the markdown mode, there’s nothing like this currently in Mudita Kompakt, but I will ask if it’s planned or considered to be implemented.
