On my previous Android phone, I was using Greentooth to automatically disable Bluetooth when it wasn’t connected to any device. Granted the app is now unmaintained, but it still worked flawlessly. As this doesn’t seem to be a Mudita OS feature, I sideloaded F-droid and installed Greentooth, however it doesn’t work at all. also tried “Auto Off Bluetooth”, again from F-Droid, but it doesn’t work either.
Do you folks see any Mudita OS limitation that would prevent those apps from working when they do work on other Android phones ?
I personally think it would be nice to have such a feature native in the Kompakt, this seems well aligned with the device purpose.
This is also important to me. This is one of the many ways in which security —particularly counter-surveillance—is well aligned with reclaiming communication tech for personal enrichment.
As of now, this feature in not on our radar, but I can pass it on to the team.
I looked on the Greentooth github & this app is event-driven. It waits for Android to tell it that a Bluetooth device disconnected, then wakes up and performs its action. I also read that the developer specifically warns that some Android implementations may prevent Greentooth from launching when the disconnect occurs and recommends exempting it from battery/background restrictions.
I cannot be sure if this is what is happening in your case, but it’s worth checking out.
